Description

Neil Carrington: Strategic Leadership

Leading Self-Leading Others-Leading Libraries

28th February 2017, Deakin University, Melbourne CBD

Summary

CAVAL is delighted to be bringing Neil Carrington to Melbourne for a leadership masterclass. Dr Carrington will challenge your thinking, and explore how pre-existing mental-models and behaviours impact teams. You'll look beyond traditional performance systems, which are often trapped in a deficit paradigm, and learn advanced techniques to build 'high performance cultures'. He will present a range of innovative feedback processes which can be used with your own teams to build future library leaders. What's more, it will be an excellent opportunity to network with current library leaders - and the ones in the making!

Program:

  • Reflect deeply on your organisation’s ‘thinking culture’ and the relationships you build with colleagues/staff
  • Explore the difference between leaders and manager
  • Examine the impact of alignment vs agreement
  • Understand how teams can plan and develop together – building-in ongoing, authentic feedback
